The Fung Global Fellows Program brings six early-career scholars from outside the United States to Princeton each year to research a shared theme and build an international, interdisciplinary cohort.
The 2027–28 theme is “Democracy in Crisis?”, examining both the vulnerability and the resilience of democratic institutions. Research areas include populism and democratic politics; democratic norms and institutions; media, technology and disinformation; economic inequality and democratic legitimacy; citizens and civil-society renewal; and the conceptual and normative foundations of democracy.
Fellows are salaried Princeton employees, not stipend recipients. They are expected to be in residence in Princeton, New Jersey, and to take part in the program’s seminars and cohort activities.
